1. Lawsuit filed against federal government claiming that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) individual mandate is unconstitutional and therefore Obamacare (ACA) is unconstitutional.
2. Supreme Court agrees - the individual mandate violates the commerce clause (the federal government can't force its serfs [yet] to purchase something they don't want to purchase).
3. Supreme Court coaches the Obama administration into calling the "penalty/fee/mandate" a "tax".
4. Obama administration calls the unconstitutional penalty a tax.
5.Supreme Court rules Obamacare individual mandate is constitutional, because it is a tax.
Have you explored HealthCare.gov lately? I just wandered into it this morning. I was reading a blog post on the Turbo Tax Blog and clicked a link that took me to a page on HealthCare.gov explaining what would happen if someone doesn't have health care coverage in 2014. I encourage you to click both links and read both. Take a close look at some of the comments on the Turbo Tax Blog. Sycophants are really hard to understand. They don't argue with ideas based on facts. They say snotty things about reasonable and rational people. They won't argue with the fact that Obama is stripping our freedoms away. They just call me an idiot for whining about it.
Back to the point - Obamacare was deemed constitutional ONLY IF the PENALTY/FEE/MANDATE is called a TAX.
So why, on HealthCare.gov, is it called by several names that the Supreme Court found to be unconstitutional? It is NEVER called a TAX on HealthCare.gov. Why?
The page at HealthCare.gov explaining who might be exempt from the penalty/fee/mandate is ridiculous. It really causes me to question the intelligence level of those who control us from their big bubble in Washington. It lists several opportunities to lie to get an exemption like the ACA navigators have been encouraging people to do. For instance, if I am facing a penalty when I file my 2014 tax return in early 2015, I can just say my wife hit me and I need an exemption. Or I can say my Grandpa was 1% Ute Indian. Read the list - it's pretty funny actually.
Here's another page on HealthCare.gov that explains immigration statuses that qualify for marketplace coverage. It includes, among a myriad of other things, battered spouses, children, or parents. So if my son kicks me in the shin, I'm eligible to pay more for insurance that's inferior to my soon-to-be terminated policy? Sheesh!
The good news is we have until March 31, 2014 to sign up for socialized medicine, and our health care coverage status won't effect us on our 2013 taxes. We won't have to pay a PENALTY/FEE/MANDATE (tax) until 2015. Gosh what a deal!
Stop the destruction of my free country. Vote for constitutionalists rather than a party. This is the only way we can stop America from completely crumbling and losing its ability to protect our children and their children.
